Hello there, first may i thank you guys on hosting the DK2 file for download, i really loved playing it when i was younger =D

However, when i try and open the game after installing, i get a black screen and i can't open my task manager to close it.

I've set all the compatability options listed, inserted the glide files into the main directory, added -32bit everything into the target path and still nothing.

My specs:

AMD Athlon x2 Dual-core Processor
Windows 7 home Premium (only installed today)
Nvidia GeForce 8200m with all the latest drivers installed and up to date
3GB Ram.

Any solutions to this is extremely appreciated =D

I installed it a long while ago when I saw it was only the autorun and not the setup.

Small problem, Set it to win 98 compatible so the opening movies play but when i get to the loading screen it freezes. os is xp.

You could always get a cd emulator program like Daemon Tools. Link: Home page :: DAEMON-Tools.cc

If you read the website it should tell you how to go about loading up CD images.

I downloaded it but it's not loading for me. I got a Mac OS X Version 10.4. Is there a program that I need in order for it to load? Has any Mac user gotten it working?

it doesn't work for me, i see black blocks everywhere, i think its my graphix card. i've a nvidia geforce 9600 gt with newest drivers. and yes i'm running it with da compactibility thingy's (win 98).

and it only happens ingame for me not in the movies or the start up map thing lol its pissing me off coz this game is a legend if i figure out a wayt to fix and i will ill post it

ok elamre what u need to do to get rid of those blocks is when in dk2 click options graphics then uncheck hardware acceleration it worked for me

hi ive done everything os is vista when ever i play for a few minutes game minimizes and says dk2 has stopped working in campaign or custom game its pissing me off lol
any help appreciated

also tried reinstalling it works fine on myt mums shitty laptop just not my op computer

I'm not sure how old this thread is, or if it even has any active posters anymore. But I found this site through Google, 'cause someone had told me about this game. I'm having the same problems, though, I can get the game running.

However, once I get the game running, it's crazy glitchy. And sometimes certain things don't even show up. I can get into My Pet Dungeon, but when I start it I can't see the map. I can't get into the Campaign, and skirmishes freeze the game up. I'd adjust the registry like said in a previous post, but I have no idea how to do that.

So, if this forum is still alive, and I'm not breaking a rule through necroposting.. some help would be good.

Patched map files

downloaded, installed, tweaked, all working great... very stable, no crashes.
That being said, in the latter part of the campaign, on the missions where you would normally attract dark angels or black knights with the proper room configurations and claimed portals, none ever spawn.

I've done some searching and it seems that some folks have fixed this issue by replacing the map folder with the original, unpatched map folder. The problem is that the map folder bundled in the ISO prodived on this site is the patched (non-dark-angel-spawning) kind.

Just wondering if there is awareness of this issue and if there are any plans to repackage the ISO to include properly working map files?

For people having trouble with a black screen during the game, I found this quick and easy fix on another site and it solved the problem for me:

right mate av got the same black screen as the rest and what youhave put dusnt seem to be working, any other ideas?

Well thanks for the file .. followed the direction and worked perfect no errors / crashes or vid problems .. also i got an image of DK Gold and if you would like i can try to upload it , not sure how just yet .

I've been meaning to upload the original DK for a while now but I can't find my disk . I hear the gold edition is the better one to upload.
