You should be able to use hddhackr on the drive. I would suggest re-formatting the drive to a single ntfs partition first.

    Hi -

Running into an issue I can't seem to figure out.

Upgrading my Xbox 360 drive to a Western Digital WD2500BEKT.

I successfully wrote the HDDSS.bin (the 250 GB one) using HddHackr. I then formatted it with the Xbox 360. Currently on the Xbox 360 it shows 228GB free.

I've gone through this a few times, so I don't remember what initially showed up, but right now (after the formatting from Xbox 360) when I view it in Xplorer360 it shows an empty Partition2 and Partition3 has a Cache folder and a name.txt file. I import the .BIN file for Partition2 (successfully, I think) and close Xplorer360, then open Xplorer360_250GB edition. In there, I go to Partition3 and try to Insert Folder and select one of the folders I extracted from the original drive, and it shows "Injecting Folder", and for say the Content folder it takes a while like I would expect, but I don't ever see the folder show up under Partition3. I think at one point I tried putting in Xbox 360 and it didn't see any data.

Any ideas if I'm doing some thing wrong to restore Partition3?

Okay so finally received my WD Blue 500GB BVPT drive...used the tool to create a bootable usb drive, note I didnt have option to use FAT..had to create it as a FAT32 file system. I am trying to flash the drive on a Dell Inspiron 15 3521 running Windows 8. I changed the Sata Operation from AHCI to ATA in the bios. When the ;laptop boots up to the usb drive and I enter hddhackr....nothing happens but a blinking cursor beneath the command. I tried creating the usb drive using the free dos option but then the laptop wouldnt read the usb drive. I tried using the drive on a desktop running WIN7 and it did work showing the installed desktop hdd. Seems like the laptop is the issue...Id use the desktop but its older and does not have a sata connection. Any ideas on how I can get around the blinking cursor issue?

GOT IT TO FLASH....POSSIBLE FIX FOR THOSE HAVING ISSUES RUNNING HDDHACKR AS IN MY PREVIOUS POST...

Instead of using the the USB tool suggested on the first page, I tried Rufus instead, using a FAT file system and FreeDos and hddhackr ran flawlessly. Followed the rest of the steps on page one and and drive was flashed successfully. Ill have to wait until tomorrow to see if Xbox recognizes it. Will post results. Hope this helps.

Possibly the content folder is being injected in the wrong folder. If you notice nothing appears but you have lost space, you can re-format the drive to clear that out.
You can use this program linked below, it is newer and it will show the progress of copying over the files.

In OP post there is list of Working HDD Series and then Tested Drives. Is it mean after testing all drives from 'SHOW' list only few are working listed above. Or these series and models mentioned in 'tested drives' all are working? I am asking LPVX series is not metioned above but there are models in list

'Hddhackr 1.40 will only work with the following Western Digital drive series: BEAS/BEVS/BEVT/BPVT/LPVT/BEKT/BJKT/BPKT/BUDT/HLFS/BLFS

    Tested drives:

The majority of wd drives will work, most problems come from the computer used and/or the wrong settings. AHCI should be disabled for this process.

Format the drive with the console. You will need to enter the console serial number.

Thanks...that worked now on to my next issue...cant get a break with this whole process! :) Took drive out of the xbox and connected to a latpop using windows 8 with a sata data transfer cable..and have tried multiple versions of xploroer360 and either only partition 1 shows up...or only partition 3 shows up but for most instances im getting cant find fatx error....I cant get partition 2 to show up at all....I tried xport and it finds the drive and all three partitions just fine but from what I read and have seen cant restore partition using that program. I am running all apps as admin...any other suggestions?

You might have to run hddhackr again and use the create partitions option, it wont need to be reflashed. Only use xplorer 360 for partition 2 restoring.

i'm new user of xbox. I just got xbox 360 slim 4GB version from my brother.
And it only Flash LT mod, not JTAG or RGH.

If i hack 500GB, can it use in my xbox? will it read as 500GB or 320GB?
Coz i read someone wrote on other forum, they said Original XBOX 360 or Flash LT mod have limit to 320GB internal drive.

    Thanx before :)

500gb will be usable if you use the 500gb bin file.

i read many ppl here said they success hack WD5000LPVX, & it work fine on their xbox, but i didn't see anyone of them told what type of ther xbox mod.

Does anyone corfirm that WD5000LPVX work fine in original xbox or Flash LT mod? (not JTAG mod or RHG mod coz JTAG & RHG can use any brand of HDD))

it's hard to find that wd hdd series below VX -_-", all of then now available on VX series

Yes it works fine on an original Xbox 360 or a LT flashed console, that's the type of Xbox 360 the tutorial is aimed at. It would be pointless doing this process for a Jtag or RGH as they can use any size / brand of hard drive up to 2TB.
