Thanks for uploading the Undo.bin file for the 250gb drive! I like an idiot deleted mine. I hope it's easy to undo.

I need help. My bios does not have the ata or disable ahci mode. The motherboard is an AMD M4A785T-M. Let me know what I can do. Also I also have a HP laptop. I tried it also and no luck.

What options do you have, anything at all like that is mentioned in the guide? You could try going here: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards - ASUS M4A785T-M click downloads and flash the latest bios, that could add additional options.

Yup definitely one of our longest going and most active threads, I didnt think that many people would originally read it back when I created it!

You can if you want, you are looking for any of the three things below:

    • SATA operation mode should be set to ATA if given the option
    • Disable AHCI if its enabled
    • On some motherboards this can be called legacy or enhanced, you want legacy

If you can not find any of them chances are you will not be able to hack a drive with that motherboard.

I have also updated the guide to have a download the latest version of HddHackr, v1.30 Build 20110303.

If your using raid you want to disable that, you can re enable it after if you do have a raid array.

The option you want is IDE, hopefully it should work after that.

Hey guys, I can't boot from USB for some odd reason. I'm using a 1GB Thumbdrive, when I choose the boot option(S) Boot from : USB HDD, USB FDD, USB ZIP it skips past that and loads the OS.

    I'm using W7 64Bit.

Do you have a boot menu you can get in to, on your PSOT screen? (the first thing that appears when you power the computer on)

Usually it will say press F11 for boot menu or some random key like that, if you get in to this menu you should be able to see a list of all the drives in your computer, select the USB on and it should hopefully boot from that.

That's what i'm doing. There's a whole list of boot options for USB, neither of them work. :/ The funny thing is, it worked before, now it doesn't, cause I did the same about 4 months ago.. it worked then

    Solution

I don't know how late I have come to help you, or if you have already been helped, but I used the same Hardrive, and the same 4gb flash disk and was puzzled for about 3 hours until I realized what needed to be done.

First when you hit F to flash, it will say HDDSS.BIN is not present,
Then it will go into C:\ once you have done this.
    In C:\ type dir /w
In the directory it will show you what files are present, mine HDDSS.BIN was not HDDSS.BIN but HDDSS~ BIN and there for the next step was to
    C:\ren HDDSS~.BIN HDDSS.BIN
    C:\exit
Retry now that you have renamed your .bin file, it worked for me, happy to help :)

One last question. So I flashed the firmware, everything works now. But, how am I meant to get the Xbox 1 emulator back? Cause if I plug my hard drive back into the PC to restore the partition, the hard drive is going to revert back to normal again.

Hey guys... I'm new here and finally giving this hack a shot.

Bought the drive a while ago and it's finally gotten to the point where I really have no other choice but to hack this drive and upgrade my 360.

Started the process and ran into a problem... not sure if you guys are familiar with the problem and I tried to do a ctrl+f on "Media test" on this thread as well as searched for "PXE-E61" and I didn't see anything...

After inserting my 250 drive to my laptop and booting off the USB (already turned off AHCI in my BIOS) I get the following...

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent.
    Starting Windows Millennium Emergency Boot...

    Then it just hangs there.

Anyone have any ideas... I've seen other people have used laptops... I'm using a Thinkpad T-60.

    Update...
Tried on my desktop too and it still hangs at
    Starting Windows Millennium Emergency Boot...

Not sure what the issue is. I'm going to try booting from the thumb drive without the hard drive plugged in.
Also looked up those errors and they seem to be networking related so I don't think they are anything to worry about. Used F12 to bring up the boot list on my laptop and I don't see the errors. However it still hangs on the Boot message.

    Update 2...
Does the same thing without the drive in so I figured it was the USB drive that I was trying to boot off of.
Tried to recreate using Fat32 and that failed and laptop said that there was no valid system drive.
Tried to recreate using Fat again, same result on the laptop as above.

Question... how much of the drive should be used. I noticed on the first page that the USB drive the original poster is using is 1G?
The data on my USB drive uses close to 1.4G of my 2G USB drive.

Not sure where to go from here. Any advice would be appreciated.

You should have no where near 1 gig of the drive used, what is actually on the drive? it should be pretty much empty.
