You need an Nintendo DS flashcard to either backup your GBA save game to the PC or use the Nintendo DS homebrew app to injected the tickets. A GBA flash card will be no good in that respect. However the easiest way to backup / restore a GBA save to a real GBA cartridge is to use Nintendo DS homebrew such as GBA Backup Tool.

Firstable, you guys are really amazing, I couldn't even dream about the community accomplishing a serious restoration of the events in gen III. I used your info to get the tickets into my Spanish version of Pokemon Emerald, which is amazing and i have to thank you so hard, but i dont know why, im not being able to insert the mystery gift which contains Old Sea Map in order to get that precious Mew. I don't know what the problem is about, but im not being capable of importing any event data into my .sav anymore. I've tried with different copies of the file even different save files but i think that part is not running. I'm getting this message from the program:

Could any of you guys help me about this?

You can only inject the Old Sea Map in to a JPN Emerald save. That's probably what is causing the error if you are trying to do that on a Spanish save game.

So I've gotten my R4 cart and a micro SD card that fits in it, and I put the wonder card event tool onto it. But upon booting up, it only gives me an option on the top screen called "Menu" and none of the buttons work. I'm not sure what I've done wrong. Earlier in the thread someone says it's a very straightforward process, but I'm struggling to even move past the starting line.

I went into the cart and copied and pasted everything as it's written from the English notes in the first post of the thread. Moved them into their own individual folders and such, but nothing has happened. Not sure what's wrong with the whole thing.

EDIT: I formatted the SD card and downloaded a kernel from a link I found on Google. Extracted everything onto the card, booted it up, still no changes. Still only shows a folder icon with Menu written in it when I boot up and none of the buttons or touch screen do anything. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The model of R4 card I'm using is a 2020 R4 Gold Pro.

If i had to guess you have possibly formatted the SD card as NTFS or EXFAT, so the flash card can't boot the kernel. The SD card needs to be formatted as FAT32.

Is there a way to get this tool to run on mac with Wineskin? I assume (like PKHeX) a few Winetricks would get it running, but I have no idea which ones would do the trick

I am so confused. I downloaded the .zip file, extracted the files, and tried to run the mystery gift tool. It won't let me load the Eon ticket when I click load save file. I tried directly uploading the files to my save flashcard and selecting them on my ds. I have pokemon ruby in the 2nd slot of my original DS. Idk what I'm doing any more. I've had to download different file views to do this. I just want a bloody Deoxys. It's the one I need to catch them all.

You need FireRed, LeafGreen or Emerald to access Birth Island to get a Deoxys.

As @InsaneNutter said, you need FireRed, LeafGreen or Emerald to get Deoxys. With the Eon Ticket you can only reach Southern Island and get Latias or Latios.

But if you have an English copy of Ruby/Sapphire/FireRed/LeafGreen or Emerald, a GBA Flashcart, a 2nd GBA and a link cable you can redeem the DOEL Deoxys.

@InsaneNutter I'm having difficulty uploading my Fire Red save file. I always get "Invalid file". I have tried uploading both a gbavc.sav and just a .sav (not sure if there's a difference) but the tool still does not recognize it. The same file loads just fine in PkHeX. Any ideas?

Edit: In the game I have just received the Rainbow Pass, and though previously I was unable to use the Aurora and Mystic tickets I had given to myself via PKHeX, I now can, so it may be a prerequisite. I no longer need the WC3 event tool.

I found the problem.
Gen III save file must be 128 KB, your file was 64 KB. I don't know what emulator are you using, but if you set "save tipe: Flash 128 KB" it will work.

Sorry to be that guy, but I'm having problems getting it to work on my setup.
I'm playing on VBA, no physical cartridge, on Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6. My ROM is a Japanese Emerald. I'm also not the most tech savy person.
I've tried every PC version of this and running it through Wine to no result.

I've also tried the NDS version and injecting it throguh DeSmuMe Cartridge 2 feature, but I get the message that Mystery Events are not activated, although they most definitely are. It's my main save file that I've been playing on for years, so I don't think there are any ingame events missing before I can access it, and the Mystery Gift option shows up in the start menu.

I really want to be able to travel to the event islands, but the combination of MacOS and Japanese ROM seem to make it nearly impossible. I heard you can do it with PkHEX, but the only versions I've found that run on my system do not allow to check the mystery flags for them. There also seem to be no Action Replay codes for them that work in Japanese versions, even searching in Japanese I could not find any.

I've also tried finding R/S save files with Mystery Gift cards to record swap with, but I only found US ones that are incompatible with Japanese Emerald. I've then tried injecting the Eon Ticket E-Reader Cards into japanese Ruby Save files using VBA Link and both JP and US E-Reader ROMs, but I was unable to send the gift card over to Ruby, presumably because of language.

Lastly I've tried Takasan's event tool, which seems to run fine through Wine, but only generates a .dat file which I have no idea what to do with.

I feel so close to finally unlocking these events, yet so far, and it is driving me crazy. If anyone has an idea on how to make it work, or any alternative solution to unlocking these events on my save, please help me.

Updated the mirror of this tool to the 0.1f fork by Sabresite

Updated (03-21-2019) - Proper checksum is now in place so the app works. Should not trigger antivirus.
Updated (03-20-2019) to target .NET Framework v4.7.2 and compiled directly from source. Should not trigger antivirus.

Hey everyone, sorry to bother but I've been having some trouble with getting an event into my japanese save of emerald, it keeps saying "invalid file", it's 129kb and I've downloaded multiple versions of japanese emerald trying to see if it the rom was the problem but still , invalid file if anyone could give me a hand I would be eternally grateful

EDIT 2: extra info, it worked when I used my Fire red(USA) save file, same emulator.

Newer versions of mGBA adds a few bytes at the end of SAV file for RTC data.

I trimmed the file with HxD, I tried to add Old Sea Map and it worked (then I add the previous RTC data)

You didn't have this problem with FireRed because FireRead and GreenLeaf don't have an internal clock

Hey thanks a lot when I downloaded the file you attached tho, it's still 129kb and WC3Tool still says invalid file, gonna try to trim the file as you did and see if it works hope I don't destroy it
