You could get a usb Memory stick duo card reader so you can copy directly to the memory stick on the PC.

The PSP doesn't support modern wireless security from what I remember, your router will more than likely use WPA2 security, however the PSP only supports WPA.

Hey bro, I downloaded the file: 6.61 PRO-C2_22-01-2015.zip, tried putting the PROUPDATE .PBP file in my PSP 2001 v. 6.60 and the PSP said the file was corrupted. I tried putting it in this directory: E:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE. Any help?

EDIT: Fixed. Instead of moving the .PBP file to the UPDATE folder it has to be in the PROUPDATE folder (create if needed).

Sorry if this has been asked before, I am just joining the PSP modding scene. I just flashed my 1000 model PSP with the 6.61 Infinity LME firmware. My problem is that the firmware will not stay permanent, as in the PSP will not boot with the custom firmware as it should. I have selected the LME CFW in the Infinity launcher, so there must be something I am missing. Please, any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I really need some help if anyone is able. I have a PSP 2000, and I am really struggling with this whole process. Will I brick my PSP if I download the 6.60 version, and then use a game that only works on 6.61? In your honest opinion, would it be better to get 6.61 or 6.60? I've been trying to use emuparadise for ISO's, but I don't understand how to use emulators...They have three emulators available for windows, and I downloaded the PPSSPP onto my computer. I extracted the file using winrar, and have downloaded an ISO game (lego Pirates of the Caribbean) for psp from emuparadise. This is where I get confused. Do I have to put the ISO game into the emulator? Or do I just extract the game file and put it into my PSP ISO file? Please, any help (with detail, I'm really not good at modding haha) would be greatly appreciated. God bless.

You won't brick your PSP, newer games simply won't work if your on an older firmware. You can update to 6.61 and follow this tutorial.

You extract your games if zipped and copy the game ISO to the ISO folder on your PSP memory stick.

For PSP emulators these are specially coded for the PSP and are different to emulators for Windows, again it's just a case of copying them to the PSP memory stick and then loading them from the PSP's menu.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have been stressing like crazy haha. You have saved many PSP's from being bricked InsaneNutter :) Sorry, I just need to confirm, do I not need to download an emulator for my PC (windows) to be able to play downloaded psp games on my psp? Can I simply go to emuparadise, download a game file, extract the ISO, and then place it in the folder? Sorry I am asking really stupid questions, but I have been messing this process up quite a bit now...

Yes a PSP is designed to play PSP games so it doesn't need to emulate its self. Your PC is not a PSP so needs an emulator which pretends to be a PSP, allowing the PSP games to play played on the PC.

Oh that makes a lot more sense, thank you InsaneNutter. I'm going to get a microusd adapter for my PSP (memory card is way too small haha) today. I know you recommended 6.61 CFW, but do you perhaps know if it can run all the emulators (the same emulators which someone on 6.60 would run)? I saw you posted your emulator pack (thank you by the way) on the forum, but I wasn't sure if that pack is for CFW 6.60 (as this was what you had on your PSP in the picture). I am a huge Metal Slug fan, so I really want to emulate that game on my PSP if at all possible. Thank you again for all the help mate.

Everything will run fine on 6.60, my PSP is still on that, mainly because it does everything I want and I haven't used it for a long time now. Most things that work on 6.60 should work on 6.61 too.

Also you don't really need to emulate Metal Slug, Metal Slug Anthology is a retail game on the PSP that includes:
    • Metal Slug
    • Metal Slug 2
    • Metal Slug X
    • Metal Slug 3
    • Metal Slug 4
    • Metal Slug 5
    • Metal Slug 6

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the heads up on Metal Slug mate :) Do you know if there is a certain speed of the micro SD card that a PSP can't handle? I got told that I should get 80mb/s, but in the video by Retro Game Players (he informed me about this amazing forum), he uses a 100mb/s 64gb mico sd.

Could anyone possibly recommend a reliable Pro Duo adapter (that takes Micro SD cards) that I could get off of Amazon? All the ones I have seen have very unreliable and inconsistent reviews. The import fee is very expensive where I am, so I'm really trying to make an informed purchase if at all possible. Please and thank you.

For Micro SD i'd say the faster the better, the device will read / write to it as fast as it can then.

I can't recommend any adapters or what card works best unfortunately. I just have a 4gb Memory Stick Pro Due that I purchased back in 2007 when 4gb was still considered quite a lot of space. The AKORD New Micro SD TF to Memory Stick Pro Duo Adapter on Amazon does seem to get a lot of positive reviews for use with the PSP though, with someone using a 128gb SDXC card in the PSP fine. At £2.95 hopefully its worth trying. I can't imagine the import fee on a £2.95 item been a lot (you wouldn't pay anything on such a cheap item here).

If i was going to try a Micro SD to Memory Stick Pro Duo adapter i'd probably give that ago and ensure I used a quality Micro SD card with it, don't buy any sort of SD card off Ebay, theirs just too many fakes around. If your buying from Amazon ensure the Memory Card is sold by Amazon too. I use MyMemory for ant type of memory cards. From what I remember they will ship internationally too.

Thanks for the advice Insane Nutter :) Sorry for the late reply, things have been a bit crazy haha, but God is good. Wow 4gb is quite a lot for a Memory Stick Pro Duo! Mine was only 1gb haha! Thank you for the help with the adapter. I ordered one, it should arrive sometime this week. Thanks for the heads up on Micro SD cards, I'll be sure to use the site you sent. Hope all is well on your side mate.

I think I understand, but want to make sure before I do something foolish. Here's my psp scenario: PSP 1001, running 5.50 Gen-D3 cfw. I haven't used this in a long time, but would like to resurrect it. I *think* I need to install the official FW and then install the 6.61 Pro CFW to upgrade. Is that correct?

Or, is there a way to go straight to 6.61 from the CFW I have now?

    Thanks!

@redtaperebel you understand correct, follow this guide and you will be up and running fine.

I went from 5.50 CFW to 6.60 afternot using my PSP for a few years.

I own a 3000 model which is on ver 6.60 and I followed every step of your tutorial . not only yours but also tried every person who shows how to do it . yes , i always format the memory stick before starting , but every time i finish adding the CWF and everything ( without adding extras like emulators or game ) , it shows me THIS after all . do you know the problem behind this ? it's annoying ! i don't know what i did wrong ! even tho i'm doing every step correctly . the files are not shown up in my psp but they are from my PC.
Note : it did had PROUPDATE that loads by restarting the system to get access to saved games like '' Crash of the titans'' from the memory stick when i got my psp . but once i plugged it to my PC by doing nothing , that's where the problem started

@FRi did you format the memory card on the PSP?

Please send screenshots of all the files / folders on your memory stick, it will allow for people to better help you.
