Yes I tried it but as the invalid key only gets that message or a key with too many uses gets the below I couldn't really test it too much.
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<error code="TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS_DIFF_HWIDS">
<detail />
</error>

@cyrilthebest8: I'm sorry. I have just found out that Fiddler isn't able to capture the traffic from the client.

@gailo: You proposed "IEInspector HTTP Analyzer" earlier. I installed it and it does capture some traffic from the client, but it seems incomplete. Did you have success with it? People must have been able to do it. cappadappa captured the following response from EA's server for an invalid key:

<?xml version='1.0'?>
<error code="LICENSE_NOT_FOUND">
<detail/>
</error>

I would like to give cyrilthebest8 detailed instructions on how to do it.

If you give me your instructions, I'll be happy to help you.

Isnt the primary goal to get the RA3 Beta Client v1.0 (The one on this site and fileplanet, and leaked onto bit torrent) to install and launch so that a lan hack can be enabled?

I doubt there will be any way to trick the Gamespy Server with Online play, so we should focus on getting a way to install and apply lan crack with v1.0, then make a guide for less-technical people so everyone can enjoy skirmish without AI and lan play to experience the game and units.

thats it :)

the rest is the last big part with all the strings, but just in a bunch of different languages

and a quick question, the guy who unlocked it on youtube released his patch which would unlock both the 1.0 and 1.2 beta clients. so wat else is everyone looking to do?

edit: nvm, didnt know the cd check wasnt cracked by the patch

I think when the game checking cd-key and the server response that it is valid the game saving this information to a file - but i don't know which/where

if i install my beta with the same key i used on this comp (its legit) on another comp, will it work? im not going to play them at the same time.

also i went to this directory "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Red Alert 3 Beta\Support" and ran "Red Alert 3 Beta_code.exe" and it brought up a box letting me change my CD key, i dont know if this would help, but i just thought i should post.

And thanx in advance for my ? above :)

im not sure of the limit of pcs allowed for each cd key, but if you have not installed the game on more than one pc, then you should be able to install it on another one or 2 i think

@gailo:
Where did you find the XML part in the traffic captured with HttpAnalyzer? Can you explain to me how to find in it? Like: "Click that button and then look at that tab..." Thanks!

Run HTTP Analyser Stand Alone
Click the Start button (top left)
Launch the RA3 beta
Wait for it to give an error and close it
Go back to HTTP Analyser
Click the red stop button next the to start button
In the list at the top there should be something listed under ra3game.dat
Click the one that says POST under "Method"
In the bottom section click "Content" tab (middle of the screen)

Hey, cyril? Could you do a test for me? Unplug your lan cord, or disconnect from your wireless network, and tell me if you can still boot up RA3. I want to confirm a suspicion I have. Thanks!

Edit: Oh, and yes, yes it is that hard to crack the stupid serial code problem. Security coding isn't exactly as flimsy as you see in movies. ;) If only it was.

ok this is what i get when i disconnect from the internet and run the beta

I tried to analyse with HTTP Analyser Stand Alone, he said me that he couldn't launch the game because a required service couldn't be activated.

@gailo:
Thanks for your detailed description! Unfortunately I still couldn't capture the interesting part. The problem is that I don't have any captured POST data. What the hell am I doing wrong? :'(

I followed your instructions. I started the client, got these three dialogs (image 1, 2 & 3), then looked at the captured data (image 4). Any ideas?

@cyrilthebest8:
Thanks again for your help! I suppose the error (required service can't be activated) only occurs when HTTPAnalyzer is running?

it's working, but HTTP Analys didn't find anything, maybe it's because I'm connecting with a router? Is there anything special I must setup? First time I use this kind of soft...

@cyrilthebest8:
Hmmm, that's strange. Does HTTPAnalyzer capture the traffic, if you load a website in your browser? If that doesn't work, then there is a real problem. :S
If you have already passed the serial check once with your recent installation, the client may not connect again at startup. I don't dare to ask you to wipe your install and reinstall again. :$

So we need coder or programmer... That who can write it...;)
I think it is easier than to hack defence of EA official server^o)

@Janus:
We are not trying to hack EA's server. We are trying to find out what the server tells the client if it submits a valid key. Then it may be possible to emulate the server on your local machine and send a fake response.
You are right. It may be a dead end. But it could work out. You never know before you try, right? ;)

dude finding a working SecuRom 7 loader for RA3 would be much easier... since we already passed the activation with the (cracked) paul.dll but u still need a working loader.
i've tried alot of SecuRom 7 loaders but ra3 seems to of black listed them :@
even yasu is blacklisted lololol :'(
or some pro coder can write/edit us a NO-DVD/CD crack of ra3game.dat, or if someone finds a good SecuRom 7 emulator would be good too bcz i already made an .iso img out of the installation... yes i tried Daemon tools and Alcohol 120% (latest) still asks for a cd/dvd

it would still be easier to find the routine that ra3 uses in paul.dll and direct it to the part where it registers the game without even checking for a response. It's way too much data for me to process to do it, i know someone here can.
