Red Alert 3 BETA [Download, Keys and Information]

I wouldn't trust cccy. He's always begging for a valid cd-key, suggesting all that he wants is to play it. Period.
Depends on your point of view , you can choose not to give me a key also , just that cracking it will take longer , but I believe its still possible . Or else someone tells me what reply they give for a legit key . Period .

Yeah, but I said I got a key from fileplanet and I'm not a fileplanet subscriber. I thought they only give keys to subscribers. You might get a key as well. And this might also be because I reported about 2 problems yesterday.

cccy: If I had a valid key (which I don't), I would give it to Saduff, Ecquasion, or Wohnai. That's because you just showed up and you think that you can say some weird stuff about cracking and everybody will knee before you and send you legit keys.

about cracking process: there are 3 ways to solve this situation:

1) wait till final release. Some scene group will then release normal crack (either some SecuROM loader like RELOADED does, or rebuilt EXE like ViTALiTY does)

2) write some "lame" crack that bypasses SecuROM checks. Obviously there's no one, who is experienced coder enough and willing to share his crack to open. IMHO he would just give it to his friends and play LAN. Period.

3) write server, which generates unlock code. This is even more complicated, because nobody (except EA) here knows what kind of algorithm generates that unlock code from unlock request code.

Either of the last two is difficult, so I would wait for full-blown release with campaign (and other stuff) and many bugfixes. I suggest everybody here to do the same.

I don't think any crack teams will actually try to crack this, cause it's a beta, but for the release there are surely gonna be some cracks. Tiberium wars and Kane's wrath also have the cnc3game.dat cracked.

well the most promising ideea so far is the fake server but a legit key or at least some trafic logs (probably a lot) are needed to see how the ok key is generated;that or a no-dvd launcher used with the Chaitanya crack

but i think the full version will get out before someone gets these ou

Saduff: did you actually read whole my post?

Of course TW and KW has been cracked. They're games like any other (except fact that they're well-known), so scene groups will "race" to release crack ASAP (when it comes out). What did you think, how could everybody (who doesn't own legal copy) play KW or TW?

cccy didn't ask for a key until he tried a few cracking methods, and he's had some of the best ideas so far. Nothing he said was weird.

The fact that he's repeatedly asking for a key doesn't say anything about why he wants it. We're all desperate for a crack, and the fact is, to have the best chance of success you need a valid key for testing. If I had his ability in things like this, I would be begging for a key incessantly too, because I'd know I had the best chance of cracking the game successfully. "Period."

Mnn, everyone is aware that a crack will come out for the final release. Waiting for that would obviously be the easiest thing to do. The point is to be able to play the beta now. If you don't care about playing the beta and would rather wait, that's your decision. The rest of us want to crack the beta. So unless you have something productive to say to that end, please stop hassling those who are making the effort. Thanks.

I started posting at the same time with you, but I submitted the reply later, so I did not see your post.

The cd-check has removed from the TW/KW we need see changes between valid/cracked dat files and can crack the game.

It's not that simple.. Look at the file size of the crack, it is double the size.. that means it is unpacked/unwrapped, but how to do that, I don't know.

Saduff: it depends on type of crack. As I said earlier usually to bring game in shortest time, scene groups adds some kind of loader to trick Securom (or other copy protection). Resulted EXE is much bigger, because that kind of crack still contains Securom crypted/encoded game code + loader. This gives some speed decrease, but usually it is not visible (in FPS, or context switches).

Another type of crack is rebuilding whole game code. This is very time consuming because original (copyprotected EXE) game code is crypted/encoded.

I suggest that any cracking experienced coder (or any other experienced coder) should compare crack with loader cracking method with original exe. This should be the fastest cracking method of any other (that I might not know). This requires great knowledge of debuggers, PE (e.g. EXE) file format and Securom technology.

equazcion:
I also want to play RA3 beta, but IMHO you people won't get anywhere, because I doubt someone experienced would like to crack RA3 activation process or EXE. Thats because I want to wait till final release.
I don't discourage you, I would be grateful, when you will come with anything to run RA3.

This is just waste of your time (and mine btw) but I'll explain what you would have to do.

1. Get hold of the decryption-key. The reason the game asks for the CD if you won't let it access EA's servers is because it then tries to fetch it off the original cd.
2. Either decrypt the protected executable with the key manually or keep the SecuROM loader and force it to use this key.

I understand that there are people out there eager to make a crack, but don't start with SecuROM. Start with something simpler like SafeDisc.

I found a newish program from SysInternals that monitors process activity, file activity, and registry activity all at the same time and at a very low level. I used it to record what happens when I attempt to start up Red Alert 3. There is lot of data here, just warning you; however if you ever wanted to know exactly what the program is doing on bootup, this is it.

I'm using the RA3 version in Digiex's torrent. When I try booting up the game, I get the following error: "A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (5017)." I click OK, and wait until the splash screen disappears. I stopped recording events just after that splash screen disappeared.

In order to come out with something remotely usable I had to filter out frequent ongoing Windows activity like csrss.exe and winlogon.exe, so I hope those aren't important for this.

The program I used for this is Process Monitor. Next time we have the opportunity to activate a legit key, someone should record all activity using that utility and post the results.

Guys, save yourself some time, and take it from me. Using other games 'exe's isn't going to get you very far. And using a fake server is not going to get you anywhere without ONE THING. THE UNLOCK CODE ALGORITHM. If you don't have that you don't have anything. Trust me. Sending anyone a beta key isn't going to do you ANY good at all unless they can reverse engineer the game, or find a way to hack into EA/Securom's authentication servers which is very unlikely. The best bet here is a true reverser to crack the exe. Period. Your going to blabber on for another 20 pages for no reason getting people's hopes up. I still have yet to test making a complete 1:1 copy of my RA3 files, but i'm not getting my hopes up. Securom has done a very good job on the security here. The entire point of securom requiring online activation, was to prevent beta files (Yes, this beta) from being released before the game goes gold and is on sale retail. So, to think that Electronic Arts would pay a huge liscensing fee for a protection that is sub-mediocre that people who don't even understand how cryptography works let alone have 7$ to buy a beta key themselves, your kidding yourself.

I'm moving on to my next project (private server) here shortly after I make one last attempt on the RA3 beta. Either go read up some tutes on how to crack games, read x86 assembly and reverse engineer, or go buy a key from fileplanet.com

PS. Getting a log of what the activation says isn't going to do anything for you. If you read any of the last 40 pages you'd see that I clearly state what is in the responses. Those responses do you no good as they will not be legitimate responses the next time you attempt to unlock the game because it was ask for a different unlock request. Sheesh! I'm just trying to save your guy's time here.

Yes, it is a waste of your time unless you are VERY proficient at reverse engineering.

Decryption key? man. You have the right idea, but the decryption key is different on EVERY SINGLE activation attempt. Even on the same computer, and the same beta key. So even if you do get the decryption key, it won't work on a different computer, let alone the next time you try to activate. And whats the only known way to get one? Its to actually have a beta key. Now, if you can't use that decryption key on another computer, that kinda makes it pointless right? Good job. You've gottent he decryption key... But you already had a legit beta key. That gets you nowhere.

Unlock Request Algorithm is the only solution if you follow this path.

The easier path however is to Crack the EXE. Not a No-CD patch. That is a 3 on a scale of 1-10 here. Think about it, there isn't even a real CD for this game yet as its not even released. not even considering the fact that the game boots up just fine without a cd as long as its activated. The 'no cd inserted' error is only a generic error for failing activation.

Okay, and what is a NoCD patch? It's a cracked EXE -- an EXE with certain checks removed. Normally that would be SecuROM, since SecuROM is precisely that, a check for a CD. In this case it happens to not be for a CD, but that doesn't change much. The EXE would still be cracked in much the same way -- by removing the SecuROM check.

The fact that an activated copy can start without going online or seeing a CD in your drive means that certain registry settings and/or files are really all that's needed to start the non-cracked EXE. I'm not sure what else there could be; but if you know, please tell us.
---
Edit: Unless the PC hardware is part of the algorithm? Meaning that the activation is hardware-specific, and if the activated files are transferred to another system, it won't work because the hardware is no longer a match? Just brainstorming here.

Why i'm implying is that a regular no-cd patch is a 3 on a scale of 1-10. Meaning, there is MUCH more involved in cracking than your typical no-cd patch. This isn't like 'cracking' winrar which i can do in 30 seconds.

Crack the exe... Lol. SecuROM encrypts the data as I've been saying all along. Even if you remove the CD-check you won't be able to run the game if you can't decrypt it. Is that so hard to understand?

You NEED that key to DECRYPT the protected executable (ra3game.dat). Now I'm not talking about a serial or cd-key, but the key used to encrypt the executable in the first place. If you fetch it of the net or of the CD (which probably doesn't exist), I don't care, that's your own business.

Yes it's more complicated than WinRAR, but no I don't believe this is any more involved than any other NoCD patch. You make a NoCD crack by removing the SecuROM check from the EXE, right? In order to crack this, we need to remove the SecuROM check from the EXE too.
