I'm having a problem; whenever I try to launch the game, I get an error: "A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (5017)". Has anyone gotten this or know what it is?

mine worked, atleast it got in to the menu and now im updating to 1.03...

i think u need to make a fileplanet account and then register for the beta from it and then use it on the same pc u made the account on.. u cant make an account on one pc then send it to another (probably)

mine works but i had to fully delete all files and registry modification and reinstall fresh copy in another location

Mine worked. I deleted all files to do with RA3 -- I had done an uninstall but it didn't get rid of most of the files in the game folder for some reason, so I manually deleted that. Then I used RegSupreme Pro to clean my registry (you can get that from any number of torrents). After I did that, the install worked and I can start the game.

Additionally, if anyone's getting an error about a security module, try uninstalling any CD/DVD emulating software you have, like DaemonTools, MagicDisc, or PowerISO. That worked for me.

Mine really doesnt seem to want to work..

Ive deleted all my files, uninstalled, cleaned Reg, Reinstalled...

got the same Error 'For security reasons, only a limited number of machines can ever be licensed by a single purchase.'

Im using the key i got from this machine?? Any help?

Not sure if you've tried this yet but maybe check the registry location where the key is stored:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Red Alert 3 Beta\ergc

If that's there, it could be the problem. Then I would say uninstall, delete the entire Electronic Arts tree, then reinstall.

equazcion: Well I don't want to delete Electronic Arts, because I have Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath also. ;-) Well I just keep trying

**To clear your system of all the edited BS**: Download the setup file on the first page of this forum and place it in your current RA3 directory. Then run it and choose remove from the menu. After its finished uninstalling just remove the rest of the RA3 directory and your done!!!! just reinstall the game normally

You can also try getting another new key from FilePlanet. You'd need to register a new account there with a new email address.
