Red Alert 3 BETA [Download, Keys and Information]

It doesn't work that way. After inspecting paul.dll i've come to a conclusion that every time ra3 is ran it checks is the key valid from the ea server. :-D
Well, that's a relief. I hope that means EA won't be trying to sue me anytime soon for turning on the launcher three times and typing in five different keys. >_>

Well, then, now we have to find a way to work without the servers...

Ok, doubt this will help much (as pretty much anyone with a registry editor can find these), but I found registry files for RA3 and SecuROM in these locations:

(each - represents a sub folder of the main folder (HKEY_*****))

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
-Software
--EA Games
---Red Alert 3 Beta

--Electronic Arts
---EA Games
----Red Alert 3 Beta

--SecuROM
---(multiple folders with readmes, licensing info, and other stuff)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
-Software
--EA Games
---Red Alert 3 Beta

--Electronic Arts
---EA Games
----Red Alert 3 Beta (BTW, there are a TON of folders, ranging from registration to Product GUID in this folder)

--Microsoft
---Windows
----Current Version
-----App Paths
------RA3Beta.exe

-----GameUX
------GamesToFindOnWindowsUpgrade
-------{CB4FC102-9870-499E-9DB2-31724159076D}

-----Installer
------Folders

And now I'm not typing them out anymore because they are way too long. There's a bunch of installation data and help data in here. I'm having a hard time sifting through all of it.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\******************
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\4DF79F1C9DB1EB545A081047BB8A7B5F\InstallProperties

This one above has a some very interesting files called Version, Version Major, and Version Minor. Might have something in them.

Then, there's a few more.
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-57989841-839522115-1881671848-1003\Software\EA Games\Red Alert 3 Beta
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-57989841-839522115-1881671848-1003\Software\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Red Alert 3 Beta

There's probably a few that I missed, but I don't have time to go back and look through them all again.

Edit:
And in the time it took me to get all the way over here, I missed three critical updates that probably make these files a bit more critical.

not true deoton, I have a legit key. If I log off the internet, i can still play the beta. It does not need to check the server more than once. The activation data is all in the registry.
u're the guy from mininova right?
since ur game is activated try changing the key through registry to one of the serial numbers from here and then see if the game starts...
if that works try to repack the installation of urs and share it with us (make sure the PIRATED s.n is in the reg when u repack) and then we can work on a lan hack

Yeah, Im the giy from mininova. Changing the key in ergc does still allow my install to work, but it does not work on other people's. There is something else at work. i just need a bit more time...

the youtube guy finally released a patch
[video=youtube;anqfv8IH-Bc]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anqfv8IH-Bc[/video]
here since rapidshare is discouraged i attached the patch to my comment
i haven't tried the patch since i can't even start RA3 :'( so if it works all we need is an authentication crack

If you need any tests done with valid keys, both myself and Assassin have valid keys and could packet sniff the response.

Have you tried the lan unlocker yet?
i want to know if it works

I've found this which is able to sniff the HTTPS traffic. Wether or not you'd be willing to post full logs is upto you as they'll have your CD key in them.

New Link for downloading beta!

If the download speed is too slow for anyone using the torrents or other sites. You can now download it from fileplanet.com. However you will need to login or register and the game will still require a legitimate cd-key.

Installed applications no problem, it sniffed my Firefox and IE traffic fine, but is picking up nothing from RA3. Perhaps it only re-checks every now and again? Know anyway to force it to recheck?

I've updated my RA3 as I have been playing it online a lot. Hopefully someone who has it installed and working and not-updated can give it a try :)

I reckon simply deleting all the registry keys listed a few pages ago will force it to check again. Course I could be wron so back the keys up first.

Um, my registry keys were mostly listings for the RA3 Beta client and installers... There is one for SecuROM, too, but I didn't REALLY go looking for them.

BTW, can we get some data values for the registered Registry keys versus unregistered keys? That might be the piece of the puzzle we need to unlock this.

Edit: I got something! When I was messing around with the Registry values in HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Red Alert 3 Beta, there was a registry value called Registration that pointed to the key "ergc", which was where the serial code was stored. I deleted that key and the Registration string and I got an error message saying something along the lines of "error 600" and that a security module was not able to activate. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to recreate the event yet...

Anyway, someone with a registered copy, please open the aforementioned HKEY location in RegEdit and tell me what the string values are. I don't think I can fix it this easily, but I might be able to make some headway.

Double Edit: Meh, I haven't been able to recreate the issue yet. However, I've got a couple places I would like registry values from registered users for.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SecuROM (I would like sub key information for this one. All the hex codes that it gives could help quite a bit)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EA Games\Red Alert 3 Beta
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Red Alert 3 Beta
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA Games\Red Alert 3 Beta
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Red Alert 3 Beta (and sub keys for this one, which should be a numbered one and an ergc. If you want, you can leave out the code you used)

Again, this probably won't solve the problem, but it might help us track it down.

Triple Edit: I just realized that the game says that it wants to "limit" the number of computers the game is installed on. That must mean that something is connected to the registration... Which means that the Registry codes might be the weak link we need. (I don't know, but you never know until you try! ;))

here is the securom info from my activated ra3.
nothing new happened... what about u're paul.dll can you zip it and upload it for us?
thanks for ur help

C:/Program Files/EA Games/Red Alert 3 Beta/RetailExe/1.0(or what ever ur version is)/paul.dll
btw im not sure how safe this is on ur key so if u're willing to share, its on ur own risk

Secure rom codes are machine specific. They will not work by coping into your registry. We need to either fake the challenge response that the client gets when connecting to EA servers or crack the client to not request the challenge.

I think I have a way around the CD check at launch but its not really workble at a large scale.

I used Wireshark to check what RA3 does when you launch the game and found that it was connecting via HTTPS to https://proxy.novafusion.ea.com/. I modified my HOSTS file to point to my local webserver and launched the game again hoping that if it got no response it'd carry on but sadly no. However I checked my logs and found this;
Code:
[08/Aug/2008:15:21:57 +0100] 127.0.0.1 TLSv1 RC4-MD5 "POST /drm/license?requestcode=QYQXS-MM7MH-L2UAX-WR8U2-EQUXH-C3GGU-H9ACT-6EBHK-9GP2&serial=ZXYGSVY5HW7CGDDH8DGW HTTP/1.1" 1132
I wrote a little script to mimic that request and got this in response;
Code:
<?xml version='1.0'?> <error code="LICENSE_NOT_FOUND"> <detail/> </error>
I'm pretty sure that if you can find out what the response normally is with a valid key then you could make a server that always gives a response saying the key is correct allowing people into the game.

This is what we need to do. The RA3Beta.exe will load paul.dll, then makes connection to the ea servers to check for serial and see what the result is, here are some of the results on the dll which result in not launching the game:

"UNKNOWN"..."XML_INVALID"..."INTERNAL_ERROR"...."NO_SUCH_RESTRICTION"..."INC_ACTIVATIONS_FLAG_INVALID".."UNSUPPORTED_VERSION"..."SERIAL_TOO_LONG"..."TOO_MANY_REVOCATIONS".."SERIAL_REVOKED_TOO_MANY"..."SERIAL_ALREADY_REVOKED"...."REVOKE_REQUEST_INVALID"...."REVOKE_HWID_NOT_FOUND"."REVOKE_CODE_ALREADY_USED".."LIC_ENDDATE_NOT_REACHED"..."LIC_STARTDATE_NOT_REACHED"."REGISTRATION_REQUIRED"."LICENSE_EXPIRED"..."APPLICATION_NOT_ACTIVE"...."INVALID_SERIAL"...."SERIAL_REVOKED"...."SERIAL_ALREADY_IN_USE"."TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS_SAME_HWIDS"..."TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS".."TOO_MANY_ACTIVATIONS_DIFF_HWIDS"..."ACCESS_DENIED"."REQ_CODE_NOT_FOUND"...."APPLICATION_NOT_FOUND"."LICENSE_NOT_FOUND"."MAX_MACHINE_LIMIT"."VALIDATION_FAILED"

We need somebody to get us the 'right' response (by using winshark w/e packet logger program), then spoof the ea address via hosts file so that it connects to our webserver instead of theirs, give the correct response and the game should start up.

found these files inside the C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\ folder on windows vista weather or not they are of any use to anyone.

If you can get the packets sent during the transmission, im sure we can get a program to send the right response. Hell, possibly setup a SQL server and then allow all codes.

the cracked paul.dll seems to be the best and easiet solution... i've managed to extract the ra3_beta.exe to a folder.. and made an iso image out of it, i tried to find a a securom loader but non worked... On 2nd thoughts i downloaded YASU 1.2 but instead of 'Insert dvd....." error msg i got this "A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (5023)." and that error turned out to be caused from SecuRom blacklisting YASU. so if anyone knows a better and a more up-to-date SecuRom loader/emulator plz inform me.
