Working on the paul.dll is probably one of the solutions, but there's something going on with the registry as well. Isn't it possible that the registry is the lead-in to whether or not the game is registered, and, if it is not, sends a request for verification from EA?
One of the users here said that they were able to play the RA3 Beta WITHOUT being connected to the internet. That's a critical piece of information, and there may be a connection between that and the registry.
So, again, is there anyone who can supply the registry data of a registered copy of the RA3 beta for the keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SecuROM (with all sub-key info)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EA Games\Red Alert 3 Beta
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Red Alert 3 Beta
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA Games\Red Alert 3 Beta
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Red Alert 3 Beta (also need sub-keys, but you don't need to add your registration code)
