If you have Python 3.7 installed you probably need to downgrade to Python 2.7, quite a few Python scrips are not compatible with newer versions.

Could this in theory be modified to copy or set saves of ds games like gba backtool but the reverse?

In theory nothing is impossible, however i can't see anyone doing that to be honest.

Tools that can do exactly that exist on the 3DS which is a lot more accessible for homebrew programs which need access to mass storage like an SD card to load / save data to.

I got it to work using an EZ-Flash 3 in 1 on my Japanese copy of Platinum. Had to use a DS flash cart to flash the ROM to the 3 in 1 but it wasn't a hard process.

DS flash carts typically support the EZ-Flash 3-in-1 and allow you to write GBA ROMs to them. Sadly, the 3-in-1 has been discontinued so you'd need another flash cart that lets you flash and boot a ROM like it was a retail game.

If you use the DeSmuME emulator load a Japanese Diamond / Pearl as the DS rom, then for the GBA rom in Slot 2 load decchi.bin (You'll see the option to do this in the emulators menu, I dont have the emulator to hand to provide screenshots)

You can then use it as per the video in the first post. Ideally you want a finished save for Diamond / Pearl (english saves will work with a Japanese game).

The emulator just works on Windows and MacOS, no BIOS is required. Just installed it and load as i instructed above.

Potential future romhacks of decchi.bin may provide a region free Azure Flute Slot-2 distribution rom, as well as the ability to replace the wondercard with something entirely different.

So, anything happened after many years??

how can i open the decchi.bin file to create a different wondercard?
because i want to recreate other Slot 2 Distributions for my own
