Xbox 360 Partition 2 Download (Xbox 1 Emulator)

Hello , I need some help on restoring partition 2 with xplorer 360 , i want to be sure i am not going to ruin the hdd


So i have finally mange to get the transfer cable , used xplorer360 unrar the xboxbackup2.bin file and started the process - i chose restore image

but by doing so, i am getting several warning messages telling me that image file and hdd signatures doesnt match

when i chose to continue it tells me " warning : source and destination device are diffrent size total sectros source 524288 dest: 488392065

when i decided to continue anyway , it tells me " warning the xbox 360 security on the destination hard drive does not match the data in this file . are you sure you want to overwrite the hard disk with this data ? overwriting a real xbox 360 hard disk with inccorect data will make it no longer work in any xbox 360 . The only image you should ever restore to an xbox 360 hard disk is an image which wa made from that very hdd (not another) . you should have made this image using the backup to image option from hdd/mc menu.

It offers me to cancel or to "continue, i know what i am doing"

Is this normal ? should i proceed and this is a false alarm ? or could this really damage the hdd

Look at the screenshots in the first post, you want to "restore partition 2" not restore the image of the hard drive.

I believe that is where you are going wrong.
 
I have noticed that in the post, the thing is that i have no such option - only the option to restore image

what am i doing wrong - how do i cause to program to offer the option to restore partition 2 it doest appear as an option

With the drive connected, and the drivers installed. Open the program as administrator, select drive> open hard drive. Drive>restore partition 2.If you can could you screenshot any errors you receive.
 
Ok guys , after a month of frustrating anticipation i finally am capable of playing xbox old games on my xbox 360
and i owe it all to your help.

For the benefit of those who experience the same prob`s as i did - its worth mentioning that the transfer usb cable came with its own program called "xport 360" i mistakenly confused it with xplorer360 since it looks the same but it doesnt let you restore partition 2 and it only lets you restore image.

As for the xplorer 360 i had a problem to open the program it mentioned that it can run since the systme is missing MSVCR71.dll , i ended up looking for the file on the net
and after i managed to trace it i copied it into system32 and since then everything went like a charm

Hey guys. I just registered only so i could thank you for the help! I too was having a problem playing originals on a 4GB slim with the 250GB Ebay HDD. Followed everyones advice and worked flawlessly the first time. Awesome, simply awesome. Thanks again and have a good one.

It sounds like you aren't using Xplorer 360 Extreme. Please make sure you are using the same program. Due to various different versions of the "same" program being released, it is possible you have an older or just different version.

As a side note, McAfee is having a hissy fit with Xplorer 360 Extreme. Any reason why?

Also, is there a way to run a fully compatible emulator for 360 games that aren't on MS's list of allowed games? Or am I stuck with 20+ games for a dead machine? Thanks!

Not sure why mcafee would block it, its a clean program.
There is a rgh or jtag hack you can do to play all xbox games, but those hacked consoles don't work on xbox live.

So there isn't any simple HDD hack for it? Or even a flashed dvd drive hack?
Weird. I assumed it was just a simple emulator that could have replaced my current partition 2 and just stayed off of live.
And, McAfee is picking it up as a base line Trojan. Idk why but, it is. I disabled it and I can use the program with ease.

Nope. Flashed dvd drive is for burned games & retail games, it wouldn't play all xbox games.

Ouch. Thank you for being so responsive. I have one last question, you wouldn't happen to know why only certain games are able to be played as opposed to others, would you? Time doesn't seem to hold much bearing considering I am able to play Mech Assault 2 but, not Enter the Matrix: Path of Neo. I doubt it will help but, I am simply trying to find a way to play these games with out playing with kernels and shamefully banning myself.

Messing around with partition 2 wouldn't work, the emulator is signed by microsoft to run on the xbox. The hacked xbox 360 can run anything modified.
 
to restore partion 2 to my third party xbox 360 HDD, I have already transferred my info and contents from the previous hard drive. Now in downloading partion 2 will it reformat the drive and causing me to lose the license transfer and info? or is it just like adding any program?

It will not format the drive. All it does is copy the partition 2 contents.
 
Registered just to say thanks. i had a hacked 250GB hard drive and couldnt figur eout why xbox games werent working, i had talked with support multiple times and only answer i got was formatting teh drive. so glad i happened upon this site, used both files from the OP and had no issues (except finding my xbox toolkit :P ).

so thanks guys :)
 
I (among others) registered just to say that this worked perfectly for me! I bought a cheap 3rd party 320gb HD on Amazon for the old style 360, and the reviews pointed me here to restore partition 2. Thanks Rick and everyone!!!
 
Everything I restore partition2, it makes the partition2 disappear.

But I have full access to partition2, if someone can provide me all the files (not BIN), I can just copy and paste.

If somebody can send me those files, it will be appreciated. Thanks!
