Nope no one has ever been banned for this, and its extremely unlikely anyone ever will be.

My personal opinion is Microsoft would just disable the hacked drive from been used, if they could, like with the datel memory cards a couple of years ago.

then again if they did it to the hacked hdd they would propbably also loose money as they propb already know the logic behind people doing and im pretty sure there quite aware and would have patched it if they wanted to

Exactly, at the end of the day people who want the bigger drives are probably going to be the ones wanting to buy more content from them anyway.

Ensure the SATA operation mode is set to ATA or disable AHCI depending on the options you have. On some motherboards this can also be called legacy or enhanced, if you are presented with this you want to set it to legacy.

This will vary depending on your motherboard / bios and is the common cause for most flashing problems.

I have a 120Gig drive that I already fitted to an older version of XBOX360 couple of years ago (Replaced the 20GB with this 120GB myself)
Now planning to buy Slim4GB XBOX360 cause the old failed.
Can I use the 120Gig drive just as is, or should I do the steps explained here.
Will it fit in slim case?
    Thanks

If it worked in your old 360 it will work in the slim, just take it out the enclosure for the old 360 and fit it in to the slim as described / shown at the bottom of the tutorial.

anyone dumped the hddss.bin from the 320gb gears console yet?

a 320gb hd is $5 more than the 250gb. it makes no sense for me to buy the 250gb at this point

There is a link to download one over on the Team Xecuter forums. I've heard that the GOW3 consoles are using Seagate drives, not sure if that's true. I'm going to give it a try now.

It seems to be legit. I flashed the GOW3 drive file to a WD 320BEVT and formatted it on the Xbox. It shows 293GB free now.

Follow the steps in the first post of this thread and when you get to the step to flash the drive in HDDHackr choose dump instead.

thats a scorpio blue, so im pretty sure itll work, but id reccomend the 320gb scorpio black, i have a scorpio black, you get 2-3 second faster loading times, a faster drive in general, with minimal noise increase for only 10 dollars
