Hack a 250gb, 320gb or 500gb Sata harddrive to work in the Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim

Im going to exchange the drive lol I left it on for awhile to download some games on demand and even played two of but as soon as I shut the box it it wasn't formatted anymore....this time though it hung on the xbox logo screen for about thirty seconds with my kinect light flash...o well hopefully the next one will work or ill just suck it up and buy a brand new 250.... lol im guess refurbed it what's doing it, but who knows lol

undo the drive then return it
 
i followed this post to the letter. i used a western digital drive. i istalled the drive in a xbox slim. the drive was recognized and then i formatted it. everything appears to be ok. but it will not let us load halo reach it hangs on initial animation.
 
Remove the hard drive and try to play the game again.If it plays fine without the hard drive,format the hard drive again using the xbox 360.
 
i didn't copy any partitions like it saiyou could do since it was a new install on a new system with a new gamer(no saved games )
 
Alright guys, after several months, I finally found a desktop that works with hddhackr. Everything seems to have worked, now I need help transferring my data.

Simply, when loading up Xplorer 360 and loading the drive, it does not list "Backup Partition 2" under "Drive". Only "Backup Image" and "Restore Image".

xplorer360 extreme can only backup partition 2

Yes, though it's not giving me the option to backup partition 2. In the image in the original post, it says "Backup partition 2" under the "Drive" tab. It's simply not there, for me.

Also, noob question, but how do I "dump" a file from the harddrive? Is it basically just copying the files to another destination, switching harddrives and "pasting" the files back on? After I restore partition 2, I want to start transferring data.

download this again,Download Xplorer 360 Extreme. run as admin and follow the guide,you can copy files to your computer then copy them to your other hard drive
 
Hey rick they sent me another refurbed 320 which had the same problem as before lol so i bite the bullet and bought a BRAND NEW 250 followed the tut and in hddhackr it didnt show the LBA warning like it did on the two refurbed 320! so if you can ask the OP to update his tut and tell everyone who reads it not to be a cheap skate and buy a refurbed HDD lol thanks for all your help rick
 
Worked like a champ the most beautiful thing is to see is your low end XBOX 360 slim 4gig suddenly become a 320 gig system
Thank you very much the tutorial was very easy to understand and it was so simple to do .... it makes you wonder why anyone would buy a 250 gig or 320 gig system

I wonder if there is a way to do larger drives......

I reformatted the drive and it still didn't work with halo 3 but it did work with halo reach
