PSP 6.61 Custom Firmware Install on any PSP - PSP, PSP Slim, PSP 3000, PSP Go & E1000

I have a psp 3004 and firmware 6.61 and I tried to do this but it says the data is corrupted while the update file is on the good folder (psp/game/update/)
EDIT: I fixed it it was just that the seplugins werent installed

i ve got a psp fat / phat / psp1000 model, tried to install it and it works. however, snes9xtyl freezes with a black screen (or blue window about setting savedata folder with o/x button or something like that). or do I need a CFW 3.52 M33 for that?

Try the latest version of snes9xTYL and see if that helps.
 
Does the PSP work normally when playing PSP games? what you would suggest is the PSP might have a stuck button or something.

I’ve got the “temporary” installation working on my old PSP. But I am thinking of upgrading the memory card to something bigger to fit everything on. Currently only using 2gb card. Are there any special instructions if you change memory cards? Do you redo the whole process or can you continue using the fast recovery option?

All I would do is format the new memory card on the PSP then simply copy the content across from the old memory card to the new one. You shouldn't need to do anything special.
 
Good Day everyone,

So i own a PSP Console Model 2004 with the Date Code 8c.
I did everything like described, i have the Firmware 6.61 installed and i can run the Firmware updater to the 6.61 PRO-C2 and will see it in the System Information tab.
But when i try to open up a copied over .iso it only says Broken Data and shows me that the data is corrupted.
Is there a way to fix this ?
 
Did you permanently install the firmware? if not then you need to run the fast recovery app every time you power the PSP on.

It could also be a bad ISO if you have downloaded it, so id suggest seeing if another game works that you have ripped yourself.
 
I understood the the part, that i have to restart the firmware with every reboot. The thing is the cfw will install like i can go into the special menu with select and change the clock speed for example. But well i tried out 3 different iso's and none seem to work. Although they can be read by daemon tools
 
well since my uimd drive is broke i can't try this out and can only rely on sites like

emuparadise
 
Try playing about with the different umd iso modes and see if that makes a difference.

On my 6.20, with Fast Active/update (not permanent flash), I was able to play games without issues. However, I'am now on 5.0 m33 cfw (just like my other PSP 1000 which works perfectly), [I also added 1.50 kernel addon tool], but now it gives some error code when trying to play a game. DOSBOX works though. also, now the emulators do still crash (white and then black on snes9x, i cannot push the home button), n64 emu then mario walks himself. so setting it to 5.0 m33 did not work.

what could this possibly be? is there a wrong firmware flash (I bought t from someone else)?
 
@matthijs0 you have downgraded the PSP to a much older firmware than what it was on. The games probably require a more up to date firmware to work, which is why this tutorial is for firmware 6.60 or 6.61.

The 5.00 firmware is from October 2008, your several years behind the later firmwares which some games require to work.
 
Looking for help with a particular issue related to these firmware files. For some reason, I cannot transfer any EBOOT.PBP files to my PSP 3000 (firmware v.6.61), other than the one that is contained in the PROUPDATE folder. Please also note that I do attempt to transfer the folder in which the EBOOT files are contained, and place them in the GAME folder. Like noted above, I was only able to transfer the PROUPDATE folder to my psp successfully. After I had executed that firmware update successfully, the problem began. (It took me a few tries to transfer the PROUPDATE folder successfully as well.) I have tried two different memory cards. Now whenever I go into usb mode, my pc says that the device is corrupted. I am using windows 10. I can transfer other files with no problem, just not the EBOOT.PBP files inside the folder or by itself. Any help would be appreciated.

both 6.61 and 5.0 m33 do not let me play emulators (keys are stuck or pressed automatically, snes9x ends in a blacks creen, hard reset/battery remove needed)
 
What does Windows actually say when the files won't copy?

Are you using a genuine memory stick pro duo or one of these SD to memory stick adapter things?

The memory stick your using could well be corrupted, have you tried formatting it from the PSP (you will loose all the data on it) then connecting the PSP to the PC again?
 
Well, this happened with the original memory stick that came with the PSP. This prompted me to buy another one ( I wanted a bigger one anyway). The same thing occurred with both memory sticks. They are both genuine pro duo sticks. The gist of what Windows is saying is that it does not detect a drive. This only happens when I try to transfer an EBOOT.PBP file to the PSP. I can transfer any other file type, at least any file type that I have tried before, to the PSP. It's very strange. I have formatted both memory sticks and have tried multiple times with both sticks.
 
Also, for some reason it does not detect my wireless network. I'm pretty sure that the PSP is not compatible with all wireless encryption standards though, so perhaps that is why. I haven't really looked into that much. I am also using a new USB transfer cable to do the transferring. I found out about the wireless, when I decided I would try to download the files directly to the PSP over Wi-Fi instead. Maybe my PSP is just wonky at this point. I bought it roughly 5 years ago.
