Red Alert 3 BETA [Download, Keys and Information]

I've read since page 1, what exactly are you referring too? If you're implying that someone's already monitored registry changes and packet sniffing at the same time, I'd like to see that post.

i'm not a hacker or a programmer, but i have a valid/original beta key and plenty of virgin machines to do fresh installs on if that will help anyone. i can run any of these registry monitoring or packet sniffing tools to provide you with any files or information you think can help. just tell me what you need and provide a little instruction. :D

test my paul.dll a page or so back on a machine that has already passed validation please?? (&)

hello all. not sure how much help im going to be, but i've been searching through the paul.dll file and randomly looking and checking for things like im sure alot of you have been doing.

this is from the RA3Beta.exe file.

Just a FYI: All of the elite and large crack/keygen groups have decided that they will NOT work with red alert 3 BETA because of just that..... Its a beta and they are waiting for the real thing to come out before bothering to crack it.

wouldnt cracking the beta make it slightly easyer when the full game comes out?

it would effectivly already be cracked or all the information and notes will be there. save alot of time to crack it once release day. effectivly be the first to crack it..

Probably not. The copy protection will probably be changed for the release version, especially if EA finds out that a crack exists for the beta.

I saw some good potential with the CD Key activation packet forging idea. It is not 100% necessary to ask someone to capture a successful CD Key activation packet. One could capture the packets by DNS Poisoning. Find a way to alter the target IP address of CD Key activation queries to you an IP of a computer with packet sniffing capabilities and have that computer also send the http queries to the actual server. Have your sniffing computer filter out ALL of the known unsuccessful query types and send the successful reply string to you. Alternatively, if you can, attach a packet sniffer application, setup to find the successful activation reply, to a RA3 download, at least one person might use the download to activate a legal copy... any takers? someone that already hijacked a computer with an internet connection capable of sorting all queries or one fast enough to dwarf the other download sites in order to convince everyone to download from there? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: or, if you don't want to go through with hacking a chunk of the internet... set up a macro to automatically keep retrying the activation, and make an http server emulator to automatically generate a reply in a logical sequence of character combinations... essentially "brute forcing" the activation. Oh, and don't forget to setup a system to log what the magic http reply is (timestamp or something). Just let it all run, essentially letting the game crack itself while working on a different way to crack (analyzing the code, looking for the correct value to change, etc...)... whichever cracks the game first. Oh, let your buddies in on the system and have everyone start the "brute force" at different positions in the sequence of character combinations.

Link doesnt seem to work?

I don't think you'd be able to tell if it were working, unless you could send it the data it's expecting. This isn't a normal http serving address that's meant to display anything in a browser. Although I do get a message about an expired security certificate.

I have a bad feeling that the challenge code isn't based off of the serial alone. I think its tied to the hardware of the computer somehow. We'll know in a minute once I get the next log sniffed.
The challenge code is a key/time/hardware 'scramble' which changes every time it's sent, then EA probably sends back an auto-generated answer code which runs through at least two (2) of the security files and such in the RA3 system. afterwards all you have to do is like paradox, and the other keygen's and such, catch each one and figure out the algorithm for it all. once that happens you should be able to create a decent keygen/crack which always intercepts the outgoing challenge code and keeps is providing a generated response... well, thats my theory anyway..

Yes! This is what I was looking for! RA3 can STILL be booted up if you aren't online but are already registered! Now THIS, we can use.

OK, the next step is to find out critical files that were altered by the installation.

Let's see, the files that are most likely to have the altered code are listed below:
LauncherSupport.dat
patchw32.dll
All files in the RetailExe folder

Could you get us copies of these files? That should be every piece of the puzzle that we need (beyond that, it's up to us to figure out how to get it to work.)

Hello, i'm back from my weekend vacation. I realize its pretty much impossible to read every post, and find every relevant thread, but maybe I didn't emphasize this enough in my previous posts. You must have a clean machine before you start sniffing. Thats why I recommended you create a restore point on your computer before running RA3 the first time.

The game works like this, you install it, you activate the install(much like activating windows) and then you can play. It must be storing some sort of registry file with the unlock code in it, provided by the activation server and the game doesn't need to send an outbound request, it just verifies the stored unlock code with the unlock request and the beta key. Both must be stored somewhere on the computer locally. So, if your trying to get access to those verification packets, i'd be glad to throw up a packet log for you guys with my key edited out.

To save you all some time, using raw sockets to 'forge' packets, or even using a altered hosts file in your \system\etc\ folder isn't going to do you any good unless you have a 'keygen' to create unlock codes with.

This baby needs to be cracked the old fashioned way. Fire up your disassemblers and start your engines! If someone wants to outline the steps taken, software used, modules loaded to start peeking around, I personally think thats the most relevant information that can be given as a resource here. Otherwise, its just up to somone to sit down for a day or two and crack it.

@Klipseracer: I've been trying using my disassembler. Though I can't seem to figure out what to do. It says to double click on your error code. Though my error code isn't listed. If you could provide me with a little help that would be great. I tired this for the paul.ddl ra3beta.exe and the ra3game.dat....I still can't find the error code to double click on it.

WTF? Are you saying we should 'dwarf' the internet or brute force the unlock code? Wow. Considering it would take several hundred years, for EVERY installation. The computer would time out within a few seconds of not getting a reply, and then when you tried again, the code request would be different. Your just talking out of your ass. I think the only reason your post isn't deleted, is because its impossible to comprehend what your trying to convey. If your native language isn't english, Then I retract my statement because I may just be misunderstanding in a large way.

FORGET SERVER 'spoofing'. This needs to be done with IDA or windasm or any other D/A.

And remember people, having multiple 'virgin' computers are not necessary. Just create a restore point before you install, or after you install but before you boot RA3 the first time.

And slave, I'm not positive on how many times the key is generated. I just know it only does an activation server query once. Thats why everyone is able to play the game with the internet off. You just need it on first boot up.

In comparison to others, I'm pretty bad at D/A. This is all I can do for ya:

USMAN's CRACK PACK & TUTORIALS Page

Otherwise, you'll have to learn just like me!

I'm a coder, c++ is my favorite. I can do gui, sockets, multithreading etc. Most of this comes from two different things, 6502 cpu emulator core, as well as a few private servers i've done/doing.

I'm not sure what's so difficult about cracking the activation. You would just need to be able to monitor a real activation. Use one of those "snapshot" utilities that can compare the before and after system states. Here's a freeware one I found after a quick search, but there are others: MJ Registry Watcher download and review - monitors your system for changes from SnapFiles. Take a snapshot before the activation, then take another after, hit "compare", and it's all there. Simply export all the new registry data to a .reg file, and that should be your crack.

There could be file changes as well, and some of those snapshot utilities track those too. Not sure if the one at the link above does.

That would only work to boot up the game though. I understand there's an "unlocker" posted in another thread to handle enabling LAN play.

Edit: Here's one for monitoring file changes: File Monitoring v.1.0

Hi guys, i dont know if it will help, but i actualy have 3 beta keys. currently im only using 1, i tried to use the second for my bro but his EA account got hit with the 'invalid online ID' bug that EA dont seem to be paying attention to (dispite the massive thread of their forum).

Anyway, would you get any use out of my third, unused code?
