you need a jtagged console for a 1tb hard drive....hddhackr doesn't work for 1tb drives
 
Thanks for this write-up! I ordered that same drive, $47 got me a 250gb drive for my 4gb 360 slim which is awesome.

I did not have any trouble with Windows 7 using any of the software. The prompts were a little different around this step: Digiex - Latest News and I did receive some kind of ATA warning as you described but I followed through it anyways after checking my bios and didn't find anything. When it was done with the flash, it said "You may now connect the hard drive to your 360" so I skipped the 2nd step with partition2, connected the drive, went to try play an original game and realized I must have missed a step and connected the hd back to my pc.

One downfall with not having an enclosure for the drive is I actually had to use needle nose pliers on on part of the metal lip to get the drive out. Not the easiest thing to do and I nearly dropped the drive when I pulled it out.

This tutorial is about upgrading the hard drive in your console on the cheap, so lets keep talk to that.
Its possible, however there is no easy way at the moment and the firmware has not been released that will allow you to do that.
 
I just had to join this place to say Thank you so much for a well put together easy guide.

I just did it, at my Dad's who had a laptop with XP (only have linux at home with a XP VM, but the VM was too small to copy it over, and was too lazy to figure out if I could grow the XDI file). Going to take it home and try it out, but seems so easy. Will update.

I waited outside overnight in the rain for my original 360 (before I knew my wife was pregnant, may not have if I had known). And Had always wondered about upgrading it, just the Kinect made me want to, along with Black Ops installation and such.

maybe it is a little bit out of subject but i just want to ask if we use the hard disk hack approach described in this document and use the LT+ created by Team Xecuter and use the Hard Disk on Xbox 360 slim and try to play burned games will it work?

You can use the hard drive in the slim yes, however no you can not play burned games, this has nothing to do with piracy.

Yes it will.That is only if you flash the dvd drive but we won't go into that cuz im not sure how to do it.
 
Many thanks for this, just got a 160 gb to work but had to use the 120 gb hack so loose some space useing a 160 HDD
Does any1 know of a 160 gb hack to use with this?.
If not it dont matter cus its saved me a load of dosh!!!.
