Red Alert 3 BETA [Download, Keys and Information]

Somebody posted the exact URL the program goes to for all that crap, waaaaaaaaay back in like page 5-12...ill go searching for it!

EDIT: Found it!

I think I have a way around the CD check at launch but its not really workble at a large scale.

I used Wireshark to check what RA3 does when you launch the game and found that it was connecting via HTTPS to https://proxy.novafusion.ea.com/. I modified my HOSTS file to point to my local webserver and launched the game again hoping that if it got no response it'd carry on but sadly no. However I checked my logs and found this;
Code:
[08/Aug/2008:15:21:57 +0100] 127.0.0.1 TLSv1 RC4-MD5 "POST /drm/license?requestcode=QYQXS-MM7MH-L2UAX-WR8U2-EQUXH-C3GGU-H9ACT-6EBHK-9GP2&serial=ZXYGSVY5HW7CGDDH8DGW HTTP/1.1" 1132
I wrote a little script to mimic that request and got this in response;
Code:
<?xml version='1.0'?> <error code="LICENSE_NOT_FOUND"> <detail/> </error>
I'm pretty sure that if you can find out what the response normally is with a valid key then you could make a server that always gives a response saying the key is correct allowing people into the game.

I've done the redirecting/xml file stuff already. In the attachment: modified paul.dll that connects to http://proxy.novafusion.ea.com/license.xml , hosts file that redirects http://proxy.novafusion.ea.com/ to 127.0.0.1 , sample license.xml file(not unlocking the game ofc)
1. Replace hosts & paul.dll files
2. Download XAMPP or other webserver
3. Put license.xml file in htdocs folder
4. Find the right response and put it into license.xml...

EDIT: Ok, I know that it won't work. I've copied this response to license.xml file
Code:
<?xml version='1.0'?>
<Unlock_response version="1">
<Status_number>0</Status_number><Status_text/>
<Unlock_code>P3AS-H76C-25BT-NQ8G-REMZ</Unlock_code>
</Unlock_response>
And... Insert Red Alert 3 CD... It simply skipped paul.dll, nothing more...

Yea we would still need a no-cd crack, this would just be an attempt to emulate authorization. I think all we need todo is get a working no-cd, emulate authorization, and unlock the menu so it has working LAN, and then we'd be home free.

im not one of those 3 doing this, im simply following this thread to see how things turn up.. but currently i dont think they are monitoring the net anyway.. they have an activated game and they are testing it on a pc without internet. they are trying to find out what lets the game become "activated", files which have been added newly or registries etc..

what is a package code in register (677**B3**86**DD**B4**2D**9E**76B) and what is a AuthorizedLUAApp, AuthorizedCDFPrefix,

Hello people, I have a beta key I got last night from fileplanet. I came here from the mininova torrent. I've made a couple private servers for games like Phantasy Star Online and Tiberian Sun, so What i'll do tonight If I remember is to uninstall my RA3 game, and go through the activation process while logging the traffic using ethereal. Then, i'll throw some winsock code together in visual c++ and i'll pump out a gui program to mimic the response code for an authentic key. Hopefully this will get you guys to the main menu, where the patcher for LAN can be used from there.

Good luck. We're still trying on our ends (and yes, we do seem to have stopped monitoring most of the traffic, because it feels like we are looking at the same half a dozen posts repeated from the first 12 pages...)

Well, I could be playing the beta right now, but instead i'mma help you guys out. Thats just the hacker in me that sees a little challenge. Moreso, its just coding project that i'll start, and probably finish halfway LOL just kidding. As long as the traffic isn't encrypted, this should be no real problem. In the past, westwood studios hasn't had much for encryption. its the simple fact they don't want you to play on THEIR servers. Let me uninstall it, and fire up ethereal and i'll see if i can't find one of my old server projects and frankenstein it into this. If it works, i'll have some one beta test my beta test work around and i'll release it :) Maybe this brings a little more hope back to the thread. I maybe be overlooking some obstacles, but i'll never know until i have a look.

a little update from me.
i have located the secuROM in the RA3game.dat.
the Red Alert 3 Beta splash screen appears, and it stands there 10-20 secs. and the RA3Beta.exe close down without any errors.

hehe, greeat.. well i will go get some sleep, and continue working tomorrow (yn)

Hello everyone,

I just thought I would add to this thread the position of Digiex (this site) on this thread and activity around the RA3 Beta. We are so thankful for all of you who signed up and are actively taking part in looking for ways to open this private beta to everyone so they can enjoy a sneak peak into what will be, one of the best RTS's out this year.

As one of the first sites to leak this beta, and actively create torrents and seed them from Dedicated Servers, as well as provide FTP downloads for the client, we are fully behind passing along this beta. We have pushed out over 500gb over FTP, and between our servers in the UK and Canada we have pushed over 2TB seeding the torrent.

When a workaround is figured out and created to help users install, launch and play LAN/Skirmish games with no AI we would like you to know we are fully behind it. Not only do we intend to write a walkthrough with the authors permission to be placed on this thread for everyone to see but also put our bandwidth and resources behind it. If that means providing download space that can handle the high demand that will be generated, or to seeding torrents to ensure everyone can download it, we will help out.

If at any point someone creates a fix, if they want to work with us on getting mirrors online and also torrents which we help seed with Dedicated Servers please contact myself over Private Message. Or alternatively just place the file as an attachment to a post on this thread.

A big thank you for everyone taking part, hopefully it wont be long until we hit the jackpot and everyone can give the beta a spin! :)

What I did was a system restore. I was able to reinstall ra3 and sniff the packets again, but still even after editing the paul.dll file to exclude the 's' in https it still forces a secure connection. Lets see how difficult SSL hacking is....
