Hack a 250gb, 320gb or 500gb Sata harddrive to work in the Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim

yes i did....

im using 1.3 version of hddhackr and what would i type into the command prompt to quick format it

if your using one of these drives, undo the drive then use the other version.
and for the formatting, you can do the in windows(only if you undo the drive)
WD Scorpio Series BEVS/BEAS
- WD Scorpio Blue Series BEVS/BEVT/BPVT
- WD Scorpio Black Series BEKT/BJKT
- WD VelociRaptor Series
- WD AV-25 Series BUDT

ok, i formatted the harddrive allocated all the space to the first volume and then i quick formatted it but now its not showing up in the hddhackr list...but it shows up when i boot up windows

akomer, i seem to be having the same problem as you. managed to flash my 250gb bevs wd drive to appear as a hitachi, hddhackr said flash was successful and ready to use in xbox, created partitions, everything seems to go fine. however my xbox slim wont recognize drive at all, and older xbox sees it gives option to format, but after format still says need to format. tried viewing using xplorer360 but it says not fatx drives connected. tried flashing drive back to normal, formatting and reflashing for xbox, but still no luck. ready to give up at this point!

undo your drive with 1.3
download version 1.25,replace hddhackr 1.3 with 1.25 & rename your undo.bin file to undo.old
flash your drive with version 1.25

now my drive doesnt even show up on the ATA device list in either versions.....cant i just mail both my drives to someone and have them do it so it works.....this is becoming more of a hassle then wat the tutorial looked like

I just bought the WD2500BJKT drive off e-bay, it was already flashed, put it on my 360, worked fine, installed Skyrim, was playing, game froze and got the E-68 error, now the 360 sees the drive, but it says its not formatted, try the format thru the 360, nothing. I dont have the undo.bin for the drive, emailed the seller, and he doesnt have it either. I did hook the drive up to my computer and ran hddhackr, it sees it with the hack, a Hitachi, wont let me re flash it.

What are my options?

Use version 1.3 and use the create partitions option, that's the only thing you really could do without a undo.bin.
Hook it back up to the 360 to see if you can format it or use it.

Ok, got it hook up to my PC, ran 1.3, ran create partitions option, it did its thing, finished, now its stuck with the green word marker.
Is it supposed to do that? and is safe to turn the computer off and unplug the drive from the PC?

Thanks for your help BTW

I'm glad to see this thread is constantly monitored. A few years ago, in 2009, I bought a 250GB WD and modded my Xbox to work. It's been beautiful ever since. Recently, I got my hands on a WD Black 160GB. Using HDDHackr 1.30, I got the firmware flash to work for the 120GB drive. However, trying to use Xplorer360 Extreme doesn't seem to work. I copied the original data from the original 20GB hard drive without a problem, but I can't seem to get data back to the new 160 (120GB) drive. Anyone have suggestions?

The drive is for my brother, who, as I'm sitting here now, is running through all of his Xbox Updates. Understandably, he'd like to get all of his game-saves and DLC back onto his new hard-drive. I greatly appreciate any help. And, would a transfer kit be worth purchasing if it'll make all of this that much easier?

did you use the xplorer360 120gb version?
each drive size has a version for it

I didn't think of that, and I also didn't see a link for the 120GB version, so I incorrectly assumed it worked with all of them. The forum won't let me post links at the moment, so I'd appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.

I'll have to wait until the bro is off his xbox tomorrow after work, but it seems like that would be the sensible solution to the obvious problem.
