Xbox 360 Jtag or RGH Hack Easy Update to Dashboard 17502 with XeBuild GUI

Hi InsaneNutter ... Thank you for your tutorials ... they are the BEST
i just got a little problem which is my profiles and game-save data are gone after updating using this tutorial ... but space in internal drive is occupied !
i have an RGH 1 Jasper BB XBOX 360
 
If you are saving things on the consoles internal memory that could be why, its generally advised not use the internal memory on a Jtag / RGH console.

I saw "0x2ac seems bad" text while i was flashing nand through xell.
Console works well. Should i do something about it?

That will just be a bad block on your nand, it will have been remapped when you flashed the nand which is why the console is still working ok.

Nothing to worry about.
 
Hi @InsaneNutter, Got a big problem with updating my RGH xbox.

My 7 year old son got the new skylander game, When he wants to start it, its asking to update,
unfortunately the xbox was connected to the internet, and he pushed the A button and the xbox began to download the update but the
update failed, from now on every game I want to play the box keeps asking for an update.
Xex menu still runs so as FSD en when I start the box with the eject button the Xell starts.

So now I made a nan dump of the xbox, I put it on a fat32 formatted stick but it won't update,
When Xell starts it freezes and nothing happends. I can get a ip either.

I looked up my CPU Key and I saw this
Board: trinity
Flash Trinity
Type: glitch2

But when I use Xebuild it automaticaly goes to freeboot glitch 1.0

I really hope you can help me out.
 
So have you followed this tutorial and built a new updated nand, you seem to be trying to flash the existing nand you have dumped going from what you have said?
 
Yes I followed the tutorial an built a new updated nand. I didn't have the original nand anymore.
I'm trying to flash it with the new update nand.
When i boot the xbox by pressing the ejext button Xell starts up but keeps freezing over the word
ATAPI inquiry model: HL-DT-STDVD-ROM DL10N then says SATA deviceor if I have a usb drive in stops at Fat Mount uda0,
nothing els happening after this.
 
From what I could find online about the error you have it appears the version of XeLL on your console doesn't support the Hitachi DVD drive in your slim console.

Apparently if you disconnect the DVD drive (just removing the power cable will do) it should allow Xell to function enough for you to update the nand, you can then reconnect the power cable to your DVD drive after updating.
 
Oke , thanx I'm gonna look for a guido to open the xbox,
Wanna ask you another question it's a bout building the new (update) with the nand,
I don't have the original Nand anymore so I made a copy of the nand thats in the xbox now,
When I was looking for my CPU key, I found in XEX loader I also see info over the glitch,
the info said glitch 2, but when I load the nand in Xebuild it automaticaly goes to freeboot glitch 1.0

is this correct or must I change it in glitch2 ?


 
In my experience XeBuild Gui usually picks the correct settings based on your nand, i'd be tempted to believe that.
 
I opened my xbox last night and I disconnect my drive (its a LG drive) and the Xell didn't freeze any more.
Tonight I gonna flash the nand.

One more question, is it better to get the raw.bin with the ip adres or can I use the update.bin from the nand I made with nandflasher.

I dont have the Original nand no more.
 
You can use either, both will contain all the required info to build a new updated nand.
 
Well I did iT, I flashes the nand and update the Xbox , I online have to check if the Kinect works,

thanx for your help. Maybe you can help me out with another question,
can I play games online? I have no original games I only play games from a HD.
Is there another way because microsoft account is not gonna work.
 
Glad it all work, as for playing online no you need an unmodified / flashed console for that.
 
what is my solution?

hi,my problem starting from not reading new games with dvd, till i decide to update dashboard, and now tis is second problem! what is wrong with my KV code? dasboard ver 16747

i coulden't have flashed any update...just dumping nand as you did tut.
i purches my xbox from china and it was full of games so never tryed DVD till now. but i am sure they did every thing on this BOX.

So Im trying to install Aurora on my RGH Xbox 360 console, but when i try to set path of dashlunch, it freezes. I have version 3.0.2 Dashlunch which I understand is very old.

Searched online for a solution and found out it was a dashlunch version problem.
When I tried updating, it said my kernel is not supported.
When I searched how to update I came across your guide which seems quite easy, but Im still trying to figure out what to do before I'll brick my console somehow.

At the start of the guide you wrote:
"To dump (copy) your nand from the Xbox 360, we will use a program called “Nand Flasher 360”. Note: This will work for Jtags, if you have a RGH console you would be advised to use your original nand dump, I have been informed not doing so will cause some people problems."
What do I need to do different than what the guide says? Am I not suppose to dump the nand the way you wrote in the guide? What does it mean to use the original nand dump?

Its a second hand consol, I already bought it with rgh installed on it. How do I know if the nand was already tempered with?
