Hack a 250gb, 320gb or 500gb Sata harddrive to work in the Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim

I have x360 elite (fat), can i just buy official 500gb hdd which is for x360 slim, then take off hdd and put it to my elite? without any use of hddhackr?

Official 500gb hdd is about same price as WD Scorpio Blue 500gb.

Yes.
Usually the 500gb by microsoft will cost around $110 while a wd 500gb will cost around $50. Maybe you're looking at a hacked wd drive for xbox 360 use. If it's by microsoft, im not sure if those cases for the slim will easily dissemble just incase you have to return it.

I successfully hacked WD5000LPVX-80V0TT0 friday october 31 2014

My notes :
After hacked drive with flashing tool (HddHackr_v1.40), I must needed to create partition 0-2-3 manually with option "C"
I can't transfered partition 3 with Xplorer360Extreme2. I needed to use Party Buffalo to backup DATA directory and transfert back on new drive manually
I can use Xplorer360Extreme2 to backup and restore partition 2

Hello everyone, I have flashed many xbox hd for me and my friends, but they are two days that I have trouble flashing two 500GB hd LPVX series.

This is the error:

I wanted to ask if I can use on a 500GB hard drive, the file hddss.bin 320gb hard drive.
In so doing turned it from 500 to 320 GB? Or it is not possible?

In the bios the hd is properly detected, as sata drive.
However I do not have the ability to set AHCI mode because I have the bios locked.
But I do not think that's the problem, because I have flashed other hard disk on this computer without problems.

Thanks for the great guide. I am looking to upgrade a 20gb old style 360 for trade in. I have a WD 320gb in the approved list. Can I make it look like a 250gb by using that sector file (or some other way)? Thanks in advance.

Use the 120gb security sector, no official 160gb drive exists so you can only use 120gb of space on that drive with the 120gb security sector.

Browsed for a bit. Does this answer my question above? (make a 320gb look like a 250gb)
 
can someone post the link HDDHackr v1.22 build 20091022 so i can download it the one i found on this forum says it cant be found or if you can tell me another link that will work the same. It's for a 120gb hard drive.
